AKA Gallery offers a broad range of services to the community, starting with the exhibitions that we program. Members form the core of AKA Gallery--without our members we would not be able to continue programming new and innovating work. Membership helps keep us open, relevant and fresh.
Some of the benefits of membership include:
Board opportunities - Any interested AKA member is eligible to sit on our board of directors. Board members help set the direction of our organization and take part in the planning and implementation of special projects. We also have a number of working committees chaired by members of our board. You don't have to be a board member to sit on a committee.
Mailouts - As a member of AKA, you will receive our regular mailout that includes our newsletter, containing critical writing, information about upcoming programming and opportunities, as well as a special members' corner. The mailout also includes invitations to upcoming events, and special announcements.

members can subscribe to BlackFlash Magazine at a steep discount of $18 from $22 regular. BlackFlash Magazine is a nationally and internationally circulated tri-annual publication on photography and new media. It is the only magazine in Canada that commissions artist projects as part of its regular publication.
